We believe the Bible to be
the inspired, inerrant Word of God from which we learn and believe that there is
One God, eternally existing in three Persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). We
believe that God created man in His own image, but that man chose to disobey,
causing a separation between God and man due to sin. We believe that God loved
and cared for mankind, even though fallen and rebellious. In order to save, we
believe that the eternal Son of God became Son of Man through the virgin birth
and was tempted in all points as we are yet without sin. We believe that He
offered Himself on the cross paying for our debt and rose again. We believe
that a person can be saved by faith, trusting that Christ died for our sins and
rose again from the dead. We believe Jesus is preparing a place for all who
trust in Him and that He is in the process of preparing us for that place with
Him. We look forward to Him coming to take us home.
Because we believe these things we are
called
We are called to build
relationships with those around us, demonstrating the difference that Jesus
makes in our lives and inviting them to consider the claims of Christ on their
lives. We understand that it is both a privilege and a responsibility to
represent Jesus Christ to our friends, neighbors and relatives.
More fully
We believe the Bible is
our one and only source for authoritative doctrine from God. Therefore, we
heartily affirm the following Articles of Faith
►We believe that all Scripture
(both the Old and New Testament) is inspired in all its parts and without error
in the original manuscripts (2 Timothy 3: 16)
►We believe that the Bible
should be interpreted literally, grammatically, contextually and historically
►We believe that the Godhead
eternally exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
(Matthew 3:13-17, 28: 19)
►We believe that our salvation
from sin has been purchased for us by the shed blood and substitutionary death
of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:21, Romans 5:6-9)
►We believe that our Lord Jesus
Christ was conceived in the flesh by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary,
and is both true God and true man (Matthew 1: 18-23)
►We believe that our Lord Jesus
Christ was resurrected in bodily form according to the Scriptures, and that His
resurrection guarantees the resurrection of all who are united to Him by faith
(1 Corinthians 15)
►We believe that all have sinned
and are unable to fulfill God's standard of perfection to earn salvation (Romans
3:23)
►We believe that salvation is
the gift of God by grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone (Ephesians 2:8-9)
►We believe that salvation is
the believer's present permanent possession, while future rewards are earned by
present faithful works (John 10:27-30,2 Cor. 5:10)
►We believe that all who have
received Jesus Christ as Savior are called to a life of obedience to the Lord
which demonstrates that serving God is both reasonable and joyous (Romans
12:1-2)
►We believe that the church is
composed of all believers, who are responsible to guard the spirit of unity
within the Body of Christ (the church) (1 Cor. 12:12-27)
►We believe that the ministry of
the Holy Spirit includes the convincing of the world of sin, righteousness and
judgment, guiding the believer into truth, interceding in prayer, comforting in
need, equipping for service (John 14:16-26, 16:7-15, Romans 8:26,27; 1
Corinthians 2:10-13)
►We believe that all who trust
in the Lord Jesus for salvation are 'baptized' into (placed into) the Body of
Christ by the Holy Spirit who also gives enabling gifts and power according to
the will of God (1 Corinthians 12:11-13, Acts 1:8)
►We believe that God in Christ
provides victory over sin and Satan, as we in prayerful, watchful humility yield
ourselves to Jesus on a moment by moment basis (Ephesians 6: 1 0-20)
►We believe that believers at
death enter eternal bliss and that unbelievers at death enter eternal misery
(Luke 16: 19-21)
►We believe that the world is
fast ripening for the tribulation judgments which all believers will escape by
the rapture of the church prior to the tribulation (1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18)
►We believe that the Lord Jesus
Christ shall be the judge of all people (Revelation 20:11-15)
►We believe that the Lord Jesus
Christ will come in power, majesty and glory to close the tribulation period and
establish His millennial reign (Revelation 19:11-16)
►We believe that our Lord shall
literally and personally reign as King with His resurrected saints of all ages
in the time known as the Millennium (Revelation 20:4÷10)
►We believe that the person
Satan is the father of lies, a murderer and the great deceiver who will
ultimately suffer eternal punishment in the lake of fire (John 8:44, Revelation
20:7-10)
►We believe that the Lord left
two ordinances for the Church:
1. Baptism by immersion in
water after salvation (Acts 8:26-38)
2. The Lord's Supper for all
believers present in fellowship (1 Corinthians 11 :20-34)
►We believe that God calls every
Christian to the grace of giving primarily to the local church as generous,
systematic stewards of God's things (2 Corinthians 8, 9)
►We believe that all believers
should be devoted to the Lord in Bible study, prayer, church fellowship, witness
and missions' (Philippians 4:15-16, Acts 2:42)
►We believe that every believer
is called to use his/her gifts, talents and abilities for the glory of God
(Colossians 3)
